Cinémathèque Film Club

What’s almost as good – and sometimes better – than watching a film? Talking about it, of course. Cinémathèque Film Club screens a print from our archives chosen by a special guest, who will discuss their pick with the audience after the screening.

Anselm Havu is a Finnish Luxembourgish cinematographer based in Luxembourg.

A road movie, comedy, coming-of-age tale, a structured essay and drama all in one – Y tu mamá también is an undeniably touching film, marked by directorial fluidity and a raw, honest simplicity. It expanded my younger self’s understanding of cinema’s emotional and stylistic range, and showed me how far ahead some filmmakers truly are.
