In this three-hour workshop, international curator and art writer Yasemin Elçi invites emerging creatives to explore the world of curation from the inside.

Together you will map the key roles in the art world, examine what a curator actually does and why it matters to artists, to institutions, and to audiences and trace how an idea becomes a fully realised exhibition.

.

The session covers the many forms curation takes today, from museum and gallery contexts to independent and site-specific projects, and addresses the themes shaping contemporary practice: research and writing as curatorial tools, inclusivity, sustainability, and the power of art to introduce new narratives into ongoing social conversations.

The workshop closes with a hands-on group exercise in which participants develop and present their own curatorial concept. No prior experience in curation needed. Open to all creative disciplines and backgrounds.

This workshop is part of Studio Lokal, a dynamic initiative by Muse ASBL, bringing together local designers, artists, and youth to explore trends, techniques, and opportunities in the creative industry.

Ages 16–30.
