Still Life in Practice

This guided tour and workshop explore the role of food in art through the tradition of still life painting. Using selected works from the collections of Villa Vauban, participants examine how artists used food and everyday objects to reflect ideas about society, culture, beauty, wealth, and human experience. Through discussion and participatory exercises, the session connects historical still lifes with contemporary themes such as sustainability, consumption, and the meaning of food today.
