Description

The ŠKODA Tour de Luxembourg is a UCI-approved cycling road race organised annually by the Luxembourgish Cycling Federation (Fédération du sport cycliste luxembourgeois). The prologue, start, and finish have traditionally taken place in Luxembourg City.

2025 programme

This year, the Škoda Tour de Luxembourg cycling road race will start in Rue du Fossé on Wednesday, 17 September 2025. The racers will then make their way through the countryside of the Grand Duchy, before finishing the first stage at Marché-aux-Poissons at the end of the day.

In the afternoon of Sunday, 21 September 2025, the racers will complete Stage 5 and cross the finish line in Limpertsberg.

Start and finish of stage 1 on Wednesday, 17 September 2025

The introduction of each of the riders and the neutral start will take place at 14:00 in Rue du Fossé near Place Guillaume II. The peloton will head down Côte d'Eich to the Alvisse Parc Hotel on the outskirts of Dommeldange, where the start signal will be given, and the race can begin in earnest. The racers will be escorted by the Grand Ducal Police.

Start – Road closures and traffic changes

  • Rue du Fossé will be closed to traffic from 9:00 to 20:00.

As they near the end of the first stage, the racers will re-enter the city and continue along Route d'Echternach, Rue Auguste Laval, Côte d'Eich, Rue Laurent Menager, Rue St Mathieu, Rue Vauban, Allée Pierre de Mansfeld and Montée de Clausen. The racers are expected to cross the finish line on Rue Sigefroi (near the Marché-aux-Poissons) at around 17:50.

Finish – Road closures and traffic changes

  • Rue Sigefroi, Rue de la Boucherie, Rue du Rost, Rue de l'Eau and Rue du Palais de Justice will be closed to traffic from 8:00 to 23:00 (as necessary).
  • Boulevard Victor Thorn and Montée de Clausen will be closed to traffic from 12:00 to 21:00 (as necessary).
  • Rue Laurent Menager, Rue St Mathieu, Rue Vauban and Allée Pierre de Mansfeld will be closed to traffic from 15:00 to 21:00 (as necessary).
  • Rue Large and Montée du Grund will be closed to traffic from 19:00 on 16 September 2025 to 23:00 on 17 September 2025 (as necessary).
  • Parking will be prohibited on Rue Laurent Menager, Rue St em>Mathieu, Rue Vauban, Allée Pierre de Mansfeld and Rue du Rost>/em> from 8:00 to 21:00.
  • Parking will be prohibited on Rue du Fort Olisy, Rue Sigefroi and Place Ste Cunégonde from 18:00 on Tuesday, 16 September 2025 to 21:00 on Wednesday, 17 September 2025.
  • Rue du Nord will be closed to traffic, with no parking allowed, from 18:00 on Monday, 15 September 2025 to 23:00 on Wednesday, 17 September 2025.


Changes to municipal bus services

The following changes to municipal bus services will be in effect on Wednesday, 17 September 2025:

Between 9:00 and 20:00

Lines 19 and 31 will not serve the stops "Cathédrale", "Gruef", "Kasinosgaass" and "Badanstalt Quai 2". Instead, they will serve the following stops: line 19 will serve "F. D. Roosevelt Quai 1" and "Hamilius Quai 1", and line 31 will serve "Forum Royal".

Between 14:15 and 16:30

Line 9 buses operating between Place Wallis and Clausen will be diverted via Boulevard d'Avranches, Val de Hamm and Rue de Trèves. The following stops will be closed: "Wallis Quai 4" (for buses travelling towards Hamm), "F. D. Roosevelt", "Hamilius", "Badanstalt", "Um Bock/Casemates" and "Plateau Altmünster". Buses travelling towards Hamm will not call at the "Clausener Bréck Quai 2" stop and will call instead at "Clausener Bréck Quai 3".

Between 16:30 and 20:00/20:30

Between 16:30 and 19:00, the intersection of Allée Pierre de Mansfeld, Montée de Clausen and Rue de Clausen will be closed to traffic. Consequently, line 9 will no longer serve the Neudorf district, and the following stops will be closed: "Clausener Bréck", "Malakoff", "Hierzekrëpp", "Fixmer", "Neudorf-Kierch", "Neudorf-Brasserie", "Neudorf-Kapell", "Laangegronn", "Fierschterhaus" and "Kalchesbruck". Therefore, line 9 will temporarily terminate at the "Cents-Waassertuerm" stop. The same detour route between Place Wallis and Clausen will remain in force, as already applied between 14:15 and 16:30, until 20:30.

An N9 shuttle bus will serve the Neudorf district, running every 15 minutes between "Cents-Waassertuerm" and "Malakoff", stopping at all stops along the way.

Between 14:15 and 20:30

  • Line 14 buses operating between the Gare district and Cents will be diverted via Boulevard d'Avranches, Val de Hamm and Rue de Trèves. The following stops will be closed: "F. D. Roosevelt", "Hamilius", "Badanstalt", "Um Bock/Casemates", "Plateau Altmünster", "Clausener Bréck", "Tour Jacob", "Rumm", "Dinselpuert" (for buses travelling towards Cents) and "Kéibierg-INS". Buses travelling towards Cessange will not call at "Fort Dumoulin Quai 2" and will call instead at "Fort Dumoulin Quai 3".
  • Line 15 buses operating between Avenue Monterey and Cents will be diverted via Boulevard d'Avranches / Avenue de la Liberté, Val de Hamm and Rue des Pommiers. The following stops will be closed: "Hamilius", "Badanstalt", "Um Bock/Casemates", "Plateau Altmünster", "Clausener Bréck", "Tour Jacob", "Rumm", "Dinselpuert" (for buses travelling towards Hamm) and "Kéibierg-INS". Buses travelling towards P+R Bouillon will not call at "Fort Dumoulin Quai 2" and will call instead at "Fort Dumoulin Quai 1". Instead of calling at "Hamilius", buses will call at "Monterey Quai 1" and "Monterey Quai 2".

Between 16:00 and 19:00

  • In Dommeldange, line 3 buses travelling in both directions will be diverted via Rue de Beggen and Rue de la Cimenterie. The "Dommeldange-Contournement", "Van der Meulen" and "Château" stops will be closed. Buses will instead call at "Eecher Klinick".
  • Line 4 buses travelling in both directions will be diverted via Rue d'Eich, Rue de Beggen and Rue de la Cimenterie. Buses will not call at "Lavals Park", "Knupp", "Tommys Bruch" or "Biechelchen".
  • In Eich, line 21 buses will terminate at a temporary stop located at 82, rue Jules Mersch. Buses will not call at "École Eich", "Eecher Plaz" or "Eich-Centre Culturel".
  • Line 23 buses travelling towards Cents will be diverted via Rue de Trèves and will temporarily terminate opposite 86, rue de Trèves. The following stops will be closed: "Rumm", "Tour Jacob", "Clausener Bréck", "Ste Cunégonde", "Vauban", "Théiwesbuer", "Pfaffenthal-Halte CFL", "Sichenhaff", "Stade G. Diderich", "Eecher Plaz" and "Eich-Centre Culturel". There will be no service to or from Clausen, Pfaffenthal or Eich.
  • Line 32 buses will be diverted via Route d'Echternach and Rue d'Eich. Buses will not call at "Dommeldange-Contournement". Buses travelling towards "Parc de l'Europe" will not call at "Dommeldange-Gare" and will instead call at a temporary stop in front of 4, rue du Château.

  • In Walferdange, line 11 and line 26 buses operating between "Bereldange-Police" and "Steinsel-Michel Rodange Plaz" will be diverted via Rue de Steinsel and Rue Basse. The following stops will be closed: "Walferdange-Gemenge Plaz", "Helmsange-Helsemer Barriär", "Walferdange-Gare Quai 2" (for buses travelling towards Eich), "Helmsange-Tricentenaire Quai 1" (for buses travelling towards Steinsel), "Helmsange-Mercatoris", "Heisdorf-Millewee", "Heisdorf-Bei der Parkmauer", "Heisdorf-Klouschter", "Heisdorf-Altersheem" and "Müllendorf-Mëlleref". Buses travelling towards Place Dargent will not call at "Steinsel-Michel Rodange Plaz Quai 2" and will call instead at "Steinsel-Michel Rodange Plaz Quai 1".
  • Line 26 buses operating between Kirchberg/Weimershof and Place Dargent will be diverted via Avenue J. F. Kennedy and Côte d'Eich and will not serve the Neudorf, Clausen or Pfaffenthal districts. The following stops will be closed: "Bricher Gässel", "Carrières", "Huesegrënnchen", "Neudorf-Kierch", "Fixmer", "Hierzekrëpp", "Malakoff", "Ste Cunégonde", "Vauban", "Théiwesbuer", "Pfaffenthal-Halte CFL", "Sichenhaff" and "Stade G. Diderich". Also, buses travelling towards Kirchberg will not call at "Labours Quai 1".
  • Line 30 buses operating between the city centre and Kirchberg will be diverted via Avenue J. F. Kennedy and Boulevard Konrad Adenauer. Service to Côte d'Eich and Weimerskirch will be suspended. The following stops will be closed: "Pescatore", "Badanstalt", "Crispinus", "Octroi", "Eecher Plaz", "Lavals Park", "Weimerskirch-Duerf", "Mäertesbuer", "Pierre-Eloi Schoué" and "St Vith". Buses travelling towards Limpertsberg will not call at "Paul Noesen Quai 1".

Stater Maart

Due to the start of the Škoda Tour de Luxembourg on 17 September 2025, the "Stater Maart" will be held on the Place de la Constitution.

Finish of stage 5 (final stage) on Sunday, 21 September 2025

As they near the end of the fifth and final stage of the Škoda Tour de Luxembourg, the riders will enter the city via the CR215 (new Rue de Bridel) and continue along Rue de Rollingergrund, Rue Albert Unden, Avenue du Bois, Rue Ermesinde, Rue des Roses, Rue des Glacis, Avenue Victor Hugo, Rue Michel Lentz, Rue Evrard Ketten, Avenue de la Faïencerie, Rue de Rollingergrund, Rue de Kopstal (N12), the CR181 and the CR215. The riders are expected to cross the finish line at Place Laurent on Avenue Victor Hugo in Limpertsberg between 14:30 and 15:30.

Road closures and traffic changes

  • Avenue Victor Hugo and Rue Henri VII will be closed to traffic between 9:00 and 19:00. Parking will also be prohibited between 6:00 and 22:00.
  • The following road sections will be closed to traffic from 7:00 to 9:00 and 12:30 to 17:00: Avenue du Bois between Rue Franz Seimetz and Rue Ermesinde; Rue Ermesinde between Avenue du Bois and Rue des Roses; and Rue des Roses. Parking will also be prohibited from 6:00 to 17:00.
  • The race route will be closed to traffic from 12:30 to 17:00, and parking will be prohibited in marked locations along the route from 8:00 to 17:00.

Changes to municipal bus services

The following changes to municipal bus services will be in effect on Sunday, 21 September 2025:

From 9:00 to 12:30 and from 17:00 to 19:00 (approximately):

Line 2 buses: Buses travelling from Hamilius towards Limpertsberg will be diverted after "Theater Quai 1", via Avenue du Bois, Rue Frantz Seimetz, Square André and Avenue Joseph Sax. The stops "Theater Quai 1", "Lycée des Garçons Quai 1", "Alen Tramsschapp Quai 1", "Square André Quai 1", "Waassertuerm Quai 1", "Avenir Quai 1", "Siggy vu Lëtzebuerg" and "Lycée Michel Lucius Quai 2" will not be served. Instead, buses will call at "Guillaume Schneider", "Bois", "Wassertuerm Quai 3", "Square André Quai 2" and "Lycée Michel Lucius Quai 1". Buses travelling from Limpertsberg to "Hamilius" will be diverted via Avenue Pasteur and Allée Scheffer. Service to "Avenir Quai 2", "Waassertuerm Quai 2", "Square André Quai 2", "Alen Tramsschapp Quai 2" and "Lycée de Garçons Quai 2" will be suspended and buses will call instead at "N. S. Pierret", "Alfred de Musset" and "Allée Scheffer" on Avenue Pasteur.

From 12:30 to 17:00 (approximately):

  • Line 2 / Line 8: these bus services to the Limpertsberg district will be suspended. Buses will operate between "Fondation Pescatore Quai 1" and the Champ des Glacis bus parking area (stop on Avenue de la Faïencerie). For buses travelling in both directions, there will be no service to the following stops: "Theater", "Lycée des Garçons", "Alen Tramsschapp", "Square André", "Waassertuerm", "Avenir", "Siggy vu Lëtzebuerg", "Lycée Michel Lucius", "Faïencerie/INL", "Henri VII", "Ermesinde", "Uni-Campus Limpertsberg" and "Batty Weber".
  • Line 3 and Line 30 buses: Line 3 buses travelling towards "Fondation Pescatore" will be diverted via Côte d'Eich. "Alen Eecher Bierg Quai 2", "Kiischtewee Quai 2", "Theater Quai 2" and "Fondation Pescatore Quai 2" will be closed and replaced by the "Crispinus Quai 2" and "Badanstalt Quai 2" stops. For line 3 to line 30 bus connections, travellers are advised to use the "Badanstalt Quai 2" stop instead of the usual "Fondation Pescatore Quai 2" stop. Line 3 buses travelling towards "Place Dargent" will also be diverted via Côte d'Eich. The "Fondation Pescatore Quai 1", "Theater Quai 1", "Kiischtewee Quai 1" and "Alen Eecher Bierg Quai 1" stops will be closed and replaced by the "Badanstalt Quai 2" stop. For line 30 to line 3 bus connections, travellers are advised to use the "Badanstalt Quai 2" stop instead of the usual "Fondation Pescatore Quai 1" stop.
  • Line 4 and line 33 buses: Buses travelling in both directions will not call at "Fondation Pescatore", "Theater", "Kiischtewee" or "Alen Eecher Bierg" and will call instead at "Badanstalt" and "Crispinus".
  • Line 21 buses: there will be no service to certain stops in Rollingergrund/Belair-Nord, or to Mühlenbach and Eich. After the "Val Fleuri" stop, line 21 buses travelling in both directions will be diverted via Val Saint André, Rue Alexandre Fleming and Rue Thomas Edison. The "Val St André", "Roudebierg", "Villeroy & Boch", "Peiffeschbierg", "Siwemuergen", "Eecher Schmelz", "École Eich", "Eecher Plaz" and "Eich Centre Culturel" stops will be closed to buses travelling in both directions. These stops will be replaced by a temporary stop outside nos. 6-8 on Val St André and the "Strassen Primeurs" stop (terminus).
  • Line 33 buses: In Muhlenbach, the stops "Siwemuergen", "Peiffeschbierg", "Villeroy & Boch" and "Bambësch, Centre sportif" (terminus) will be closed to buses travelling in both directions. The terminus will be replaced by a temporary stop in Rue des Sept-Arpents (opposite the building located at no. 5).

The City's Service Autobus (Bus Department) will be operating a shuttle service between the terminus in Rue des Sept-Arpents and the temporary "Bambësch, Centre sportif" stop in the car park of the Bambësch sports complex.
