Description

The ŠKODA Tour de Luxembourg is a UCI-approved road cycling race organised each year by the Luxembourgish Cycling Federation (Fédération du sport cycliste luxembourgeois). The prologue, start, and finish have traditionally taken place in Luxembourg City.

Finish of stage 5 on Saturday, 17 September 2022

For the finish of stage 5, the cyclists will enter the city via the CR215 (new Rue de Bridel) and continue along Rue du Rollingergrund, Rue Albert Unden, Avenue du Bois, Rue des Glacis, Avenue Victor Hugo, Rue Michel Lentz, Rue Evrard Ketten, Avenue de la Faïencerie, Rue de Rollingergrund, Rue de Kopstal (N12), the CR181 and the CR215. The cyclists are expected to cross the finish line between 14:30 and 15:30 at Place Laurent on Avenue Victor Hugo in Limpertsberg.

Road closures

  • Avenue Victor Hugo and Rue Henri VII will be closed to traffic between 9:00 and 19:00, and parking on these streets will be prohibited from 6:00 to 22:00.
  • Avenue du Bois will be closed to traffic from 7:00 to 9:00 and again from 12:30 to 17:00, and parking on this street will be prohibited from 6:00 to 17:00.
  • The route taken by the cyclists will be closed to traffic from 12:30 to 17:00, and parking will be prohibited along the route in specified locations from 8:00 to 17:00.

Changes to AVL bus services

Please note the following changes to the municipal bus services on Saturday, 17 September 2022:

  • Between 9:00 and 12:30, and between 17:00 and approximately 18:00:
    • AVL line 2: buses heading from Hamilius to Limpertsberg will, after calling at "Theater Quai 1", be diverted via Avenue du Bois, Rue Frantz Seimetz, Avenue Joseph Sax and Rue Nicolas Liez towards the final stop ("Lycée Michel Lucius Quai 2").

Instead of calling at "Lycée des Garçons Quai 1", "Alen Tramsschapp Quai 1", "Square André Quai 1", "Waassertuerm Quai 1", "Avenir Quai 1" and "Siggy vu Lëtzebuerg", buses will call at "Guillaume Schneider", "Bois", "Wassertuerm Quai 3" on Avenue du Bois and "Square André Quai 2".

Buses heading from Limpertsberg to Hamilius will, after leaving from "Lycée Michel Lucius Quai 2", be diverted via Avenue Pasteur and Allée Scheffer towards "Theater Quai 2".

Instead of calling at "Avenir Quai 2", "Waassertuerm Quai 2", "Square André Quai 2", "Alen Tramsschapp Quai 2" and "Lycée des Garçons Quai 1", buses will call at "N.S. Pierret", "Alfred de Musset" and "Allée Scheffer" on Avenue Pasteur.

  • Between 12:30 and approximately 17:00:
      Lines 2, 8 and 30: these lines will not serve Limpertsberg. After "Theater Quai 1", they will stop at the bus parking at champ des Glacis near Avenue de la Faïencerie

In both directions, buses will not call at "Lycée de Garçons", "Alen Tramsschapp", "Square André", "Waassertuerm", "Avenir", "Siggy vu Lëtzebuerg", "Lycée Michel Lucius", "Faïencerie/INL", "Henri VII", "Ermesinde", "Uni Campus Limpertsberg" or "Batty Weber".

    • AVL line 21: buses will not call at certain stops in Rollingergrund/Belair-Nord, or the districts of Mühlenbach and Eich. Coming from the city centre, after calling at "Val Fleuri", buses will be diverted via Val Saint André, Rue Alexandre Fleming and Rue Thomas Edison towards a temporary final stop on Rue des Primeurs.

In both directions, the stops "Val St André", "Roudebierg", "Villeroy & Boch", "Peiffeschbierg", "Siwemuergen", "Eecher Schmelz", "École Eich", "Eecher Plaz" and "Eich Centre Culturel" will not be served. Instead, buses will call at a temporary stop outside Nos. 6–8 on Val St André as well as the terminus "Strassen, Primeurs".
