How to get water in your home
Whether you own your home or are renting, to sign up for water service, you must inform the Service Eaux (Water Department) of your moving-in date, along with the number on the water meter on that date. The account will be transferred as at the date on which the meter is read.
You will then receive a water supply contract by post. This contract must be duly signed and returned to the Service Eaux. By signing this contract, you accept the general and special terms of supply in the municipal regulations on water distribution (Règlement communal sur la distribution de l’eau), as well as the applicable tax regulations (Règlement-Taxe).
In the event of a change of occupant in a multi-unit building (apartment, commercial premises, multiple floors, etc.), please contact the building/property manager.

How to turn off your water
If you move or sell your home, you may terminate your water supply contract at any time by sending the form found under the link below to the Service Eaux. If you decide to move out of your current home, a final meter reading will be made and a closing statement of account will be issued. The termination for your water service contract will take effect from the date on which the meter is read.
Please note that you will still owe any tax not yet collected until you are issued a final statement of account, which is required to close your account.

How to change your billing address
You may contact the Service Eaux at any time to change the address to which your water or wastewater bills are sent. If you have more than one supply point, the changes must be requested for each one of them.
Do not use this request to report a change of building/property manager.
Please note that all changes will be applied to future billings and that previously issued bills may not be changed.

How to report a change of building/property manager
If a legal or natural person is appointed to manage the property, that person may apply to the Service Eaux to have the address changed.
In the event of a change of building/property manager, the application may be submitted either by the departing or the new building/property manager. Regardless of who requests the change, supporting documents certifying the accuracy of the information provided must be submitted.
In some cases, a closing statement of account may have to be issued to the departing building/property manager.
Please note that all changes will be applied to future billings and that previously issued bills may not be changed. As such, applications to have an address changed retroactively will not be accepted.

Prices
The amount billed for water is made up of a fixed component, based on the size of the water meter, and a variable component, based on water consumption.
The water meter measures, in cubic metres, the volume of water that you have used over a given period of time, and for which you will be charged.

How to change the instalment amount
How to change the amount of the quarterly instalments
You may, at any time, submit an application to have the amount of the quarterly instalments that are paid to the Service Eaux changed. The reason(s) for the change must be specified in the application, and the change will be made subject to the approval of the Service Eaux.
Please note that all changes will be applied to future billings and that previously issued bills may not be changed. As such, applications to have an address changed retroactively will not be accepted. Any changes to the instalment amounts will remain in effect until the next annual adjustment.
