Where to apply
The Bierger-Center is currently receiving a very large number of requests for obtaining Luxembourgish nationality. To ensure the orderly, fair and efficient processing of applications, the office responsible for matters of nationality will only receive applicants in person with a confirmed appointment.
Anyone appearing without an officially confirmed appointment will not be received.
Due to the large number of requests for appointments between now and the end of 2025, some slots may be fully booked or subject to a waiting period before confirmation.
The Bierger-Center is making every effort to process applications to the best of its ability with the available resources.
If you are a resident of Luxembourg City:
All applications and declarations required to obtain Luxembourgish nationality must be submitted to the Bierger-Center in Luxembourg City.
If you reside elsewhere within the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg:
All applications and declarations required to acquire Luxembourgish nationality must be submitted to the municipal office for your usual place of residence.
If you live abroad:
The civil registrar of the City of Luxembourg has the authority to receive all applications and declarations needed to reclaim Luxembourgish nationality or to opt for Luxembourgish nationality.
Practical information
To apply for Luxembourgish nationality, you must appear in person before the civil registrar of Luxembourg City and submit all of the documents required by law.

In your email, please indicate the time and dates you are available. You can also send us a scan of your documents in PDF format, which will allow us to check in advance if your application is complete. Please use filenames that clearly identify your documents (e.g., Birth certificate, Passport, etc.).
