Football tournament

The football tournament is open to both male and female players.

Teams must have six players, one goalkeeper and two substitutes. To promote the mixing of different cultures, each team will be allowed to field no more than four players of the same nationality.

The maximum number of teams is 63. Teams for the various groups will be chosen at random at 9:00 on the day.

This year, tournaments will also be organised for the following age groups: 6–8 years old, 9–11 years old, 12–14 years old and 15–17 years old.

Programme

  • 9:00–16:00: group stage
  • 17:05–18:55: playoffs
  • 18:55: the losing semi-finalists will play for third place
  • 19:35: the winning semi-finalists will play against each other in the final

Matches will last for 10 minutes (2 x 10 minutes in the knock-out stage).

Match times will be on display from 9:30 at the Boy Konen Stadium.

Beach volleyball tournament

The beach volleyball tournament is open to both male and female players aged 13 and over.

Teams must have five players: four on the field and one substitute. Teams are made up of five players, with at least two players of different nationalities and at least two female players.

The maximum number of teams is 20. Teams for the various groups will be chosen at random at 10:00 on the day.

The tournament will be divided into the following two categories:

  • 13–17 years old
  • 18+

Programme

  • 10:30–13:30: group stage
  • 13:30–14:00: break
  • 14:00–17:00: semi-finals
  • 17:00: the losing semi-finalists will play for third place
  • 17:30: the winning semi-finalists will play against each other in the final

Matches will last for 20 minutes.

Match times will be on display from 10:15 at the Boy Konen Stadium.

Biking activities

A wide range of activities at the Boy Konen Bike Park (open since last September), where cycling enthusiasts can try out the various bike tracks.

Registration opens at 10:00 on the day. Bikes will be provided, subject to availability.

Registrations sent via email (rsf@optin.lu) or fax (26 45 92 05) will also be accepted, subject to availability.

The "Rencontres sans frontières" team will also be at the Festival of Migrations, Cultures and Citizenship (Festival des migrations, des cultures et de la citoyenneté) on 28 and 29 February, and 1 March 2020 at Luxexpo The Box in Kirchberg, where they will also be taking registrations.
