On the Sundaysleading up to Christmas – namely 23 and 30 November, and 7, 14, 21 and 28 December 2025 – a wide range of shops in the capital will be open from 14:00 to 18:00 so that residents and visitors can do some Yuletide shopping while enjoying the festive atmosphere.
Throughout the Winterlights festival, the Staater Maart will continue to be held on Place Guillaume II every Wednesday and Saturday from 7:30 to 14:00.
The Garer Maart, which is usually held on Place de Paris on Thursdays, will not take place during the Niklosmaart. It will return on 8 January 2026.
From 22 November to 24 December 2025, Christmas trees will be sold at the following locations:
Place Jean Heinisch / Rue du Fort Elisabeth
Place Léon XIII, Bonnevoie
Champ du Glacis
Merl Park, Boulevard P. Dupong
All trees sold here are sourced exclusively in the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg. Furthermore, these trees are grown in sheep pastures, meaning no machines are needed to maintain the grass around where they grow. Just another reason to choose to buy local trees.
