Social and professional reintegration

Job seekers who are registered with the National Employment Agency (Agence pour le développement de l'Emploi – ADEM), and who have special needs in terms of social and professional integration, are referred to regional social inclusion officers (agents régionaux d'inclusion sociale – ARIS), based on a reasoned opinion issued by ADEM.

Acting in liaison with ARIS officers, the City of Luxembourg's Office social (Social Welfare Office) monitors the cases of social inclusion income (revenu d'inclusion sociale – REVIS) beneficiaries who live in Luxembourg City. ARIS officers mainly provide guidance for people who are subject to integration obligations, and support them in their social and professional reintegration initiatives.

Objectives

  • Provide beneficiaries with guidance in preparing stabilisation or integration plans
  • Organise and supervise integration measures

The regional social inclusion officers operate under the aegis of the National Social Inclusion Office (Office national d'inclusion sociale – ONIS).

Social inclusion income (REVIS)

The social inclusion income (REVIS) is meant to help low-income households, and to provide anyone who meets certain criteria with the means to maintain a basic livelihood.

The social inclusion income consists of:

  • the social inclusion benefit (allocation d'inclusion), which is financial aid that is granted to people with no income, or whose income does not reach a certain threshold, so that they can maintain a basic level of subsistence;
  • the integration benefit (allocation d'activation), which is an allowance for people participating in integration schemes as part of the social inclusion income.
