The City of Luxembourg's Office Social (Social Welfare Office) is a municipal body which supports Luxembourg City residents who find themselves in difficult situations. Our teams are on hand to provide social, financial and practical support, tailored to the needs of each individual, within the framework of the applicable laws. They help people in need, and their families, gain access to goods and services that are suited to their specific situation, with a view to helping them gain or preserve their independence.

  • Providing advice on social matters, budgeting and administrative procedures

  • Providing personalised short-, medium- and long-term social support
  • Facilitating access to social and financial services: the National Health Fund (CNS), social inclusion income (REVIS), cost-of-living allowance, rent subsidies, third-party payer system, etc.
  • Facilitating access to material aid: food banks, language courses, etc.
  • Providing financial aid, which may include emergency aid (not repayable) or advances (repayable).
