Activities

Educators and youth coordinators offer a range of activities for children, including: outdoor and indoor games, creative, artistic and sporting activities, discovery walks and workshops, theatrical events, themed programmes, and much more.

Aktioun Bambësch

The Aktioun Bambësch project was first launched over 40 years ago and is now held three times a year. It is aimed at children in Cycles 2.1 to 4.2 who live in Luxembourg City. As part of this project, the City organises a range of free leisure activities in the afternoon during certain school holidays (one week at Easter, four weeks during the summer holidays and one week at Christmas).

The activities begin at around 14:00 and end between 17:00 and 18:00. Since Aktioun Bambësch takes place during school holidays, the organisers make every effort to involve children in selecting their activities and to ensure that they have as much fun as possible.

In keeping with our mission, the ultimate goal is to spark and encourage children's creativity, provide opportunities for them to develop their knowledge, and allow them to engage in group activities in a fun and entertaining environment outside of school.

During these activities, the children are closely supervised by specially trained youth coordinators, who themselves are overseen by educational staff from CAPEL, which belongs to the Service Foyers scolaires (Childcare Department).

  • The foyers scolaires will be close for the Cycles 2.1 – 4.2 during that period.
