Project description
Upgrade works will be carried out in Rives de Clausen. The works will be undertaken in collaboration with the following City departments:
- VDL – Service Éclairage public (Public Lighting Department): Replacement and upgrade of the public lighting system. Installation of a new remote management network.
- VDL – Service Canalisation (Sewer Department): Installation of a separate draining system to replace the dilapidated main sewer dating from 1918.
- Creos S.A. Division Electricité:Upgrade and replacement of the low-voltage grid and private connections. Upgrade of municipal public lighting and Creos electrical grids with VDL electric metre boxes.
- Post Luxembourg : Installation of a Fibre-To-The-Home (FTTH) network.
Works schedule
Commencement of works: Novrmber 2025
Planned completion: Spring 2026
Traffic information
For vehicular traffic:
The affected sections will be gradually closed off to traffic as the project progresses. Pedestrian access and access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout the works. Vehicular access to private properties will be maintained insofar as technically feasible.
For businesses and deliveries:
The City of Luxembourg will try to ensure access for deliveries to local businesses for the entire duration of the works. Changes to traffic flows will be implemented as the works progress. Appropriate signage will be put in place by the City's <em>Service Circulation</em> (Traffic Department). The City of Luxembourg thanks local residents, businesses and road users for their understanding and regrets any inconvenience that the works may cause.
Your home utility connections
- During the works, representatives from the City of Luxembourg, and from private contractors involved in the works, will visit residents' homes.
- The purpose of the visit is to assess the condition of your existing connections.
- If you wish to have your existing connections replaced, please tell the City representatives when they visit your home.

Stay informed
To make life easier for residents while these works are being carried out, the City of Luxembourg has implemented a series of measures, including the option to participate in meetings regarding the progress of the work. Residents affected by the works may participate in these meetings to obtain additional information about the project's progress and air any grievances they may have. Please contact the works coordinator, or one of the construction mediators.
