Project description

The City of Luxembourg will be carrying out infrastructure upgrade works in Bonnevoie's zone G.

The works will be undertaken in collaboration with the following City departments:

  • VDL – Service Éclairage public  (Public Lighting Department):
    • Replacement of existing lighting columns with new ones, in accordance with a static study taking into account all the technical elements to be installed.
    • Refit of public lighting and ICT cabinets to bring them up to code.
    • Replacement, upgrade and adaptation of public lighting network.
    • Installation of a new remote management network in Rue du Puits, Rue de Hesperange and Place du Parc.

  • VDL – Service TIC) (ICT Department):
    • Adaptation and upgrade of the City of Luxembourg's electrical and fiber optic networks, with a view to deploying a video surveillance network in various streets in this district.
    • Construction of POPTIC node in Rue Antoine Godart, including electrical installation, air conditioning and all related technical equipment.
    • Acquisition and installation of 67 "VISUPOL" cameras.

Works schedule

Commencement of work: Autumn 2025

Expected duration of the works: 155 working days

Planned completion: Summer 2026

Traffic information

For vehicular traffic

As the project progresses, the affected sections may be closed off to traffic if necessary. Pedestrian access and access for emergency services will be maintained for the entire duration of the works. Vehicular access to private properties will be maintained insofar as technically feasible.

For businesses and deliveries

The City of Luxembourg will try to ensure access for deliveries to local businesses for the entire duration of the works.

Changes to traffic flows will be implemented as the works progress. Appropriate signage will be put in place by the Service Circulation (Traffic Department). The City of Luxembourg thanks local residents, businesses and road users for their understanding, and apologises for any inconvenience caused.

Your home utility connections

  • During the works, City representatives and private contractors will visit residents' homes.
  • The purpose of the visit is to assess the condition of your existing connections.
  • If you wish to have your existing connections replaced, please tell the City representatives when they visit your home.

Stay informed

To make life easier for residents while these works are being carried out, the City of Luxembourg has implemented a series of measures, including the option to participate in meetings regarding the progress of the work. Residents affected by the works may participate in these meetings to obtain additional information about the project's progress and air any grievances they may have. Please contact the works coordinator, or one of the construction mediators.
