Climate action
The Repair Café is organised by the City of Luxembourg as part of its wider programme to combat climate change. Volunteers with the knowledge and skills to repair damaged or broken items (clothes, small electrical appliances, bikes, toys, jewelry, small items of furniture, etc.) will be on site to help visitors give their treasured possessions a new lease on life. Visitors may be asked to assist the repairers, who will be more than happy to share their know-how with them.

Learn new things, save money and do something for the environment
As an educational initiative, "Repair Cafés" seek to encourage visitors to acquire the skills required to recondition household items that need minor repairs, so as to reduce waste and curtail the purchasing of new items, and consequently, our carbon footprint. From a financial point of view, repairing rather than buying also saves money. Beyond their practical element, Repair Cafés are meeting places where people can come together to help each other and share their knowledge.
