Festivities and programme
Where and when will the concerts and other events be taking place?
- The official ceremonies are scheduled to be held on Friday, 3 October 2025. They can also be viewed in the city centre.
- On Saturday, 4 October 2025, several concerts featuring Luxembourg artists, and a drone show, will be held in Champ du Glacis.
- On Sunday, 5 October 2025, the festivities will conclude with a Te Deum mass at Luxembourg's Notre-Dame Cathedral, presided by His Eminence Cardinal Jean-Claude Hollerich.

Will the livestreamed ceremonies be broadcast on-site or online?
Both. The official ceremonies will be livestreamed on vdl.lu and broadcast on a giant screen set up in Place Guillaume II.
Accessibility
Will there be areas reserved for people with reduced mobility?
Yes, on Saturday, 4 October 2025.
The City of Luxembourg will set up an area reserved for people with special needs in Place Guillaume II, so that the livestreamed broadcast of the "Dem Grand-Duc seng feierlech Tournée" can be viewed by the widest possible audience.
Places must be booked in advance. To book your place, please contact the Service Intégration et besoins spécifiques (Integration and Special Needs Department).

Traffic, parking and car parks
What streets will be closed during the weekend festivities?
For safety reasons, and to ensure that the "Trounwiessel" festivities run smoothly, certain road closures, parking restrictions, and changes to car-park accessibility will be in force from Friday, 3 October to Sunday, 5 October 2025.
For example: Certain streets in the city centre will be closed to traffic from 3 October, and Pont Grande-Duchesse Charlotte will be closed to traffic on 4 October from 13:00. The Glacis car park will be closed completely from 24 September.

Which car parks will be open, and which ones will be closed?
The Glacis car park will be closed from 24 September. The other car parks will officially remain open to the public, but access may be restricted and opening hours may be changed from Friday, 3 October, in particular for the Knuedler, Schuman, Place de l'Europe and Hall Victor Hugo car parks.

Are the park-and-ride facilities recommended and served by the tram or municipal bus services?
Yes. Visitors are encouraged to use one of the park-and-ride facilities served by the T1 tram line (departures every 5 to 10 minutes) or, alternatively, the municipal bus services.

Public transport services
Will the bus and tram services be operating normally?
To ensure that the "Trounwiessel" festivities run smoothly and safely, there will be a number of changes to the municipal bus and tram services between 3 and 5 October 2025.
The following bus lines will be affected: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 16, 18, 19, 21, 30, 31 and 33, CN1, CN4, CN5, CN7.

Local residents
As a local resident, will I be affected by the festivities?
Yes. The changes will affect traffic, parking and the municipal bus services. Additional information will be provided for residents of the Limpertsberg and Kirchberg districts. The information will be sent to each household by post, and will also published in the section entitled, "The capital gets ready".
