Information on the changes to public transport: changes to bus routes and stops, tram line information and access to P+R facilities.
Tram service
Schedule changes
Due to the Trounwiessel celebrations on Saturday, 4 October, the tram will run on an extended schedule along the entire line.
Last departures
- last departure from "Findel / Luxembourg Airport": 1:00
- last departure from "Luxexpo": 1:08
- last departure from "Stadion": 1:35
Temporary disruptions to the tram service between "Universitéit" and "Stäreplaz – Étoile"
Between 17:50 and 23:00, the stops between "Universitéit" and "Stäreplaz – Étoile" will not be served.
During this period, the tram will operate on two sub-sections:
- On the "Findel-Luxembourg Airport" to "Universitéit" sub-section, trams will operate every 8 minutes
- On the "Stäreplaz – Étoile" to "Stadion" sub-section, trams will operate every 6 minutes
Schedule and service changes on 4 October
AVL: General information
Saturday, 4 October 2025
From 4:00 on Saturday, 4 October 2025 to 3:00 the next day, due to the closure of the Pont Grande-Duchesse Charlotte, all the AVL lines that usually travel over this bridge will be rerouted via Weimerskirch and Côte d'Eich.
As Avenue de la Porte-Neuve and Rond-Point Schuman will also be closed, starting at 17:00 the other affected lines 2, 3, 4, 8, 19 and 33 will also be rerouted via Côte d'Eich.
As an exception, line 17 buses will run on Saturday, 4 October 2025 until 22:15 towards "Monterey" and until 1:00 towards P+R Bouillon.
The "Rout Bréck-Pafendall", "Niedergrünewald" and "B.E.I." stops in Kirchberg will be closed for the entire day. Outside of tram service hours, the only connection when heading towards the city centre will be provided by the bus lines at the "Jean Monnet Quai 2" and "Pfaffenthal–Halte CFL Quai 1" stops (with a transfer at "Eecher Plaz" for trips towards the city centre).

AVL lines 2, 8 and 30
Lines 8 and 30 will be rerouted via Avenue Victor Hugo for the entire day. Services to "Faïencerie-INL", "Henri VII", "Ermesinde" and "Uni Campus Limpertsberg" will be temporarily suspended. Instead, buses will call at "Lycée de Garçons", "Alen Tramsschapp" and "Square André Quai 4+5".
Lines 2 and 8 will be rerouted via Côte d'Eich starting at 17:00. Buses will not call at the stops "Fondation Pescatore", "Theater" (line 2), "Faïencerie-INL" (line 8), "Henri VII Quai 1" (line 8), "Ermesinde" (line 8) and "Uni Campus Limpertsberg" (line 8). These stops will be replaced by "Badanstalt", "Alen Eecher Bierg", "Kiischtewee", the temporary "Theater" stop on Rue des Glacis, "Lycée de Garçons" (line 8), "Alen Tramsschapp" (line 8) and "Square André Quai 4+5" (line 8).
Line 30 will run until 17:00 and will be replaced by line 8 for travel towards Limpertsberg.
AVL lines 3, 4 and 33
Starting at 17:00, lines 3, 4 and 33 will be rerouted via Côte d'Eich. The stops "Fondation Pescatore", "Theater", "Kiischtewee" and "Alen Eecher Bierg" will be closed and replaced by "Crispinus" and "Badanstalt".
AVL lines 6, 12, 16 and 18
Buses on lines 6, 12, 16 and 18 will be rerouted via Weimerskirch and Côte d'Eich for the entire day. The stops "Amélie" (line 12), "Fondation Pescatore", "Rout Bréck – Pafendall", "B.E.I." (lines 6, 16, 18), "Philharmonie/Mudam" (line 12), "Niedergrünewald" (line 12) and "Léon Hengen Quai 2" (line 12) will be closed and replaced by the stops "Léon Hengen Quai 3" (line 12), "Jean Monnet Quai 1+2" (line 12), "Paul Noesen", "St Vith", "Pierre-Eloi Schoué", "Mäertesbuer", "Weimerskirch-Duerf", "Lavals Park", "Eecher Plaz", "Octroi", "Crispinus" and "Badanstalt".
AVL line 17
Line 17, linking P+R Bouillon with the city centre, will run more frequently on October 4, namely every 20 minutes. As of 19:00, buses on this line will operate every 10 minutes between P+R Bouillon and "Monterey". The last return bus from "Monterey" will depart at 1:03. Alternatively, P+R Bouillon can be reached via the CN1 line.
AVL line 19
Line 19 will be rerouted via Côte d'Eich starting at 17:00. The stops "Badanstalt Quai 2", "Fondation Pescatore" and "Theater" will be closed and replaced by the stops "Badanstalt Quai 1" (travelling towards Limpertsberg), "Alen Eecher Bierg", "Kiischtewee Quai 1" (travelling towards Luxembourg Central Station) and the temporary stop "Theater Quai 4" (travelling towards Luxembourg Central Station) on Rue des Glacis.
AVL line 21
Buses on line 21 will be rerouted via Weimerskirch and Côte d'Eich for the entire day. The stops "B.E.I.", "Rout Bréck-Pafendall" and "Fondation Pescatore" will be closed and replaced by the stops "Badanstalt", "Crispinus" "Octroi", "Eecher Plaz", "Lavals Park", "Weimerskirch-Duerf", "Mäertesbuer", "Pierre-Eloi Schoué", "St Vith" and "Paul Noesen".
AVL line CN1
Line CN1 buses will not call at "Fondation Pescatore" or "Theater". Replacement stop: "Badanstalt"
AVL line CN4
Line CN4 will be rerouted via Weimerskirch and Côte d'Eich. The stops "Fondation Pescatore", "Rout Bréck-Pafendall", "Philharmonie/Mudam" and "Niedergrünewald" will be closed and replaced by the stops "Badanstalt", "Crispinus", "Octroi", "Eecher Plaz", "Lavals Park", "Weimerskirch-Duerf", "Mäertesbuer", "Pierre-Eloi Schoué", "Paul Noesen" and "Jean Monnet".
AVL line CN5
Line CN5 buses will not serve the Kirchberg or Weimerskirch districts. The stops "Fondation Pescatore", "Rout Bréck-Pafendall", "B.E.I.", "Paul Noesen", "St Vith", "Pierre-Eloi Schoué", "Mäertesbuer", "Weimerskirch-Duerf", "Tommys Bruch", "Knupp" and "Biechelchen" will be closed and replaced by the stops "Badanstalt Quai 1", "Crispinus Quai 1", "Octroi Quai 1", "Eecher Plaz Quai 1" and "Dommeldange-Contournement Quai 1".
AVL line CN7
Line CN7 will be split into two routes: line CN7-1, which will serve Limpertsberg, and line CN7-2, which will serve Belair and Merl.
For line CN7-1, the stops "Fondation Pescatore", "Theater", "Batty Weber", "Uni Campus Limpertsberg", "Ermesinde", "Henri VII" and "Faïencerie-INL", and all the stops located between "Stäreplaz/Étoile" and the final stop, will be closed. They will be replaced by the temporary stops "Theater Quai 3+4" (Rue des Glacis), "N. S. Pierret", "Alfred de Musset", "Allée Scheffer", "Kiischtewee Quai 1+2", "Alen Eecher Bierg Quai 1+2" and "Badanstalt Quai 1+2".
Line CN7-2 will continue to serve all the stops from "Stäreplaz/Étoile" until the final stop, except for the stops "Fondation Pescatore" and "Theater" and all the stops located in Limpertsberg, which will be closed.
