History
A new rehearsal facility for the brass band is being built on the 4,017 m² site of the former school on Rue des Marguerites in Neudorf/Weimershof to replace the previous premises located on the same site. Following an in-depth study, it was decided not to renovate the existing building.
The building is primarily constructed of wood, with particular attention paid to acoustics, energy efficiency, and the circular economy. The roofs combine photovoltaic panels with extensive green roofing. The project preserves as much of the existing site as possible and prioritises materials that can be dismantled and recycled.
Project overview
Divided into four sections, the building will include a large multipurpose room, four dedicated spaces for local organisations, storage areas, restrooms, and technical spaces.
Constructed primarily of wood, the building prioritises sustainable and recyclable materials that can be easily dismantled in keeping with a circular economy approach. The project also includes solar panels, a green roof, permeable surfaces, and features designed to promote sustainable transport and accessibility.
Key dates
The final project was approved by the Municipal Council on 4 July 2022. Works commenced in May 2024, and the project was completed in April 2026.
