Background
A new rehearsal facility for the brass band is being built on the 4,017 m² site of the former school on Rue des Marguerites in Neudorf/Weimershof to replace the current premises located on the same site. Following an in-depth study, it was decided not to renovate the existing building.
In the first phase, a new building will be constructed at the front of the plot. Once the new facility is completed, the existing building located at the back of the plot will be demolished and the space will be repurposed.
Project overview
Divided into four sections, the building will include a large multipurpose room, four dedicated spaces for local organisations, storage areas, restrooms, and technical spaces.
Constructed primarily of wood, the building prioritises sustainable and recyclable materials that can be easily dismantled in keeping with a circular economy approach. The project also includes solar panels, a green roof, permeable surfaces, and features designed to promote sustainable transport and accessibility.
Key dates
The final project was approved by the Municipal Council on 31 March 2023. Work began in May 2024 and the cornerstone was laid on 16 October 2024.
