Background
The project to build a 7-unit, affordable-housing apartment building on the property located at 90, rue du Grünewald in Neudorf was selected as part of the "Baulücken III" design-and-build competition for the construction of affordable housing units, for rental and for sale, on eight plots of land belonging to the City of Luxembourg, with the for-purchase units being sold under emphyteutic lease.
Project overview
Set in a wooded area of Neudorf, the development comprises one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, including one apartment adapted for people with reduced mobility.
The building also features shared amenities, private storage areas, a bicycle storage room, five parking spaces and a shared green space. In terms of energy efficiency, the residence features solar thermal and photovoltaic panels, a dual-flow ventilation system with heat recovery, and an energy efficiency rating of B-B.
Key dates
The final project was approved by the College of the Mayor and Aldermen on 3 February 2021, and then by the Municipal Council on 1 March 2021. Work began on 30 November 2021 and was completed in November 2024.
