As part of its efforts to improve the well-being of children and strengthen social cohesion, the City will be holding a Play Street session on Rue de Strasbourg, in the heart of the Gare district, on Saturday, 27 September 2025 from 11:00 to 17:00.

As a shared space with no traffic, the section of Rue de Strasbourg between Avenue de la Liberté and Rue du Fort Wedell will offer children and local residents a safe and sociable space where they can play, meet and rediscover their immediate living environment. Throughout the day, children will have access to chalk, skipping ropes, scooters, balance bikes and hula hoops. In addition, the CAPEL team of the Service Foyers scolaires (Childcare Department) will offer fun activities such as creative workshops and an agility course for children.

This initiative, which aims to promote free play, children's autonomy and the reappropriation of urban space, builds on the success of the temporary play streets set up on World Play Day and the Urban History Festival, which were met with great enthusiasm by children and families alike. The City invites everyone living in the neighbourhood – young and old alike – to come and enjoy the temporary play street on Rue de Strasbourg, and also encourages local businesses to get involved in the event to help make the day a success.

Access for local residents and delivery service providers will remain guaranteed.
