Overview
Throughout the month of May 2026, the Luxembourg City Business Association and the City of Luxembourg are holding the "Blooming Windows" spring window display competition.
Businesses across the capital are invited to decorate their shop windows and/or façades with botanical elements, greenery, natural materials, or floral arrangements to bring a sense of vibrancy and whimsy to the heart of the city.
Window display competition
A panel of judges will score participating businesses' displays on a set of criteria (overall aesthetics, technical execution, originality and creativity, integration of products sold into the décor, bonus for judges' favourite) and select three joint winners, each of whom will receive a €2,000 grant from the City of Luxembourg.
In addition, the public will be able to vote for their favorite display via QR code. This QR code will be displayed on the stickers and posters distributed to participating businesses. It directs users to a form they can submit to the City of Luxembourg. The display that recieves the most votes will also be awarded €2,000.
The rules and entry form are available below. (Registration is open until 31 March 2026).
Window display workshops
As part of the "Blooming Windows" competition, the City is offering free window display workshops to businesses in the capital to help them showcase their products and enhance their communication with customers. During these session, participants learn the fundamentals of shop window design, so they can create an eye-catching setting for their store's products. Participants carry out a shop window decoration project to put what they have learned into practice.
