Overview
Management and maintenance of the fleet of vehicles
The department is tasked with purchasing new vehicles as needed by the various municipal departments. It also maintains and repairs the vehicles that are registered and operated by the municipal departments, and coordinates and schedules preventative maintenance and any necessary repairs.
The team also organises and oversees technical inspections on the vehicles operated by the City, and ensures that they meet regulatory requirements. In addition, they are responsible for acquiring and managing electric vehicle charging points, and the software that comes with the hardware.
They also sell vehicles that have reached the end of their working life, manage tachographs, and track accident-damaged vehicles.
Technological and logistical oversight
The Service Véhicules et maintenance is charged with keeping abreast of new technologies and providing the municipal authorities with guidance on mobility issues. It also manages the central store, ensuring that spare parts and other hardware are available when needed for servicing vehicles.
The department also oversees the City of Luxembourg's filling stations, helping to keep the fleet moving on a day-to-day basis.
Providing municipal staff workwear
Lastly, the department purchases workwear and uniforms for City of Luxembourg personnel, ensuring they are appropriately attired for their various roles.
