Telemetry systems specialists install, maintain, and ensure the smooth operation of the technological equipment on board the City's buses. They play a key role in ensuring that the network's operating and communication systems are reliable.
Systems and equipment maintenance
They install and dismantle on-board equipment, such as operations support systems (OSS), passenger information systems (PIS), automatic passenger counting (APC) systems, routers, battery state-of-charge display devices on electric buses, and CCTV systems.
They are also responsible for analysing and diagnosing malfunctions in on-board systems and in peripheral equipment. They carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on all these installations, including operations support systems and associated equipment, on-board destination and stop displays, passenger counting systems, on-board communication systems, electric buses' energy management systems, and on-board CCTV systems.
System reliability
To achieve optimal performance, they help ensure that all technical installations and equipment can be relied upon to function correctly.
Spare-parts inventory management and tracking
Their role also involves managing and optimising the stock of spare parts and components that they require for their work.
Lastly, they coordinate and follow up on relations with equipment suppliers to ensure the technical solutions used across the network are available, meet expected quality standards, and can be replaced if need be.
