Main duties
Bus drivers take care to ensure buses are driven safely and in compliance with the Highway Code and current regulations. In-depth knowledge of the bus network and of Luxembourg City as a whole is essential to ensure reliable and efficient service.
Part of their job is to greet passengers, and provide information and guidance, while also ensuring the safety both of passengers and of everyone around their bus. They must also be able to handle unforeseen situations, and report any anomalies they observe while on duty.
Person specifications
The job requires a highly developed sense of responsibility, and constant vigilance. Bus drivers must be rigorous in their approach to their job, especially when it comes to respecting schedules. They must also be sufficiently flexible to accommodate service constraints. Mastery of preventative and defensive driving techniques is very important.
They should possess a highly developed sense of service and good interpersonal skills, and should be courteous and attentive to passengers' needs. Lastly, they must be able to adapt to technological changes and demonstrate resilience, especially when it comes to managing stress.
