Overview
An annual gathering that seeks to promote integration and interculturalism, MusiqCITE is part of a series of awareness-raising events organised by the City. These aim to foster dialogue between people of different nationalities and cultures, promote diversity and highlight the importance of considering intercultural issues on a daily basis.

2026 programme
On Friday, 27 November 2026, the 14th "MusiqCITE – cross-cultural, musical and interpersonal exchanges" will be held at Cercle Cité. Beginning at 19:00, music groups will showcase their talent and entertain audiences with music, dance and song. After the concerts, the audience is invited to continue the evening with a complimentary reception hosted by the City of Luxembourg, featuring flavours from around the world.
Nelson Dos Santos andJuan Reyes will be the masters of ceremonies for the evening.
André Mergenthaler
Cellist and composer André Mergenthaler pushes the boundaries of his instrument with his solo project "Cello Loops". Through sonic exploration and musical experimentation, he reveals a whole new side to the cello.
Juan Reyes y el Mariachi Sabor a México
Juan Reyes y el Mariachi Sabor a México celebrate the richness and vibrancy of traditional Mexican music. With violins, trumpets and lively rhythms, their performance is bursting with energy and warmth.
Kharibulbul (Xarıbülbül)
Kharibulbul’s young dancers, aged 6 to 10, bring Azerbaijan’s rich folk traditions to life through dance. Traditional dances, music, and costumes reflect the richness of Azerbaijan's cultural heritage.
Duo Mestizo
Colombian singer and multi-instrumentalist Alberto Caicedo and Luxembourg percussionist Eric Durrer have been performing together as Duo Mestizo since 2015. Their repertoire blends Latin American classics with original compositions, bringing together musical traditions from South America and the Caribbean.

On Friday, 5 December 2025, amateur music groups came together at the 13th MusiqCITE to showcase their talent and entertain audiences through music, dance and song. After the concerts, the City hosted a reception where guests got the chance to discover an array of international specialties and products.
Areej Music
Six musicians hailing from different cultures merge Indian, Arabic and Turkish musical traditions with Latin rhythms to create a unique intercultural sound.
The Romanian dance troupe, Carpatii
Since 2007, this ensemble has been helping to revive Romanian folk dances with its troupe of 24 dancers performing nine routines in traditional costumes from the four regions of Romania. This energetic group authentically shares this heritage at events in Luxembourg and the Greater Region.
Hembadoon & the Lady Force Band
Hembadoon Ande, an Afropop singer and radio host also known as Lady, dynamically combines afro fusion, jazz and African sounds. Since returning to the stage in 2020, she has performed in Nigeria, the Netherlands, Ghana, Cameroon, Canada, and now Luxembourg, where she also hosts the Afrikulture Mix programme on Radio ARA. With her multicultural group, the Lady Force Band, she takes audiences on a spirited journey through the rhythms and cultures of Africa.
Capoeira Team Luxembourg Asbl
Founded by Mestre Pelezinho, this group introduces audiences to Afro-Brazilian culture through capoeira, maculele and traditional rhythms. With high-energy performances filled with acrobatics and music, this group shares its values of respect, solidarity and inclusion.
Grupo Pilon
Grupo Pilon, which was founded in 1980 in Luxembourg by some young Cape Verdeans, electrifies audiences with funaná, the iconic rhythm of Cape Verde. With a career spanning more than 40 years and concert tours in Cape Verde and the United States, they are back in 2025 with their fifth album, Nu sta li, a tribute to their origins and their singular path.
Jazz Break
Since 2024, Jazz Break has been organising events for people in Luxembourg with a passion for jazz dances and their cultural heritage. The organisation is rekindling interest in the Charleston, Lindy Hop and Authentic Solo Jazz, highlighting these dances' African American roots.
Jakcar
This Dominican rapper sings mainly in Spanish, occasionally sprinkling in English and French. With his powerful lyrics and huge stage presence, he captivates audiences with his inimitable style of performing.

Last year's event took place on 6 December 2024 at the Luxembourg City Conservatoire.
A number of amateur music groups showcased their talent and entertained audiences with a mix of music, dance and singing. After the concerts, the City hosted a reception where guests were invited to discover an array of international products and foods.

The 2023 edition took place on 1 December 2023 at the Luxembourg City Conservatoire.
The City of Luxembourg issued a call for participants to musicians and singers, as well as to associations representing different cultures in the capital that would like to share the typical culinary specialities of their regions.

- HANDS ON MARS – Acoustic duo playing covers/medleys of different musical styles.
- LA FANFARE DU SOLEIL – Amazigh music (North Africa).
- THE SWINGIN' HEPCATS – Group performing swing songs from the 1920s and 1930s.
- FERNANDA STANGE – Singer-songwriter with a folk-pop and bluesy style.
- PLACIDO VAZ – Traditional Cape Verdean music.
