Overview

The City offers rental housing (houses and apartments) in various neighborhoods. As new construction projects are completed, more units will continue to become available. Interested? If you meet the eligibility criteria, you can apply to join a waiting list.

The College of Aldermen regularly allocates available accommodation units to wait-listed applicants. The housing is grouped by type:

  • C1 (one bedroom)
  • C2 (two bedrooms)
  • C3 (three bedrooms)
  • C4 (four bedrooms)

Admission conditions

Exclusion criteria 

  • Must not be the owner, co-owner, or emphyteutic, superficiary or usufructuary lessee of a dwelling or buildable plot, nor enjoy any right of residence in another dwelling, in Luxembourg or abroad.
  • Total household income must not exceed the threshold set by Luxembourg City.

Application

Applications must be made using the appropriate form. Incomplete applications will be returned to applicants by post, together with a list of the missing documents required to complete the application.

Once the application is complete, the applicant will receive an acknowledgement of receipt confirming their registration on the waiting list.

Once per year, a letter is sent to all prospective tenants inviting them to update their application. Applications that are not confirmed will be removed from the waiting list.
