Overview

TERRA is a mixed-vegetable and arboricultural micro-farm located in the Eicherfeld orchard in Luxembourg City. TERRA's vegetable gardener's great-grandfather apprenticed as a vegetable gardener at the Fondation Pescatore before setting up his own market-garden business on a two-hectare plot in Merl.

Gardener

  • TERRA S.C. – Mühlenbach

The garden

The process of cultivating a vegetable garden spans all four seasons. Vegetables are sown, planted, tended, and then harvested. This process is repeated several times a year, every year, depending on the season.

With this garden, the TERRA team wanted to show what growing vegetables looks like at different times of the year. Cultivation starts with broad beans, kale and Swiss chard. The beans are harvested in the summer, and then replaced by different varieties of cabbage for the autumn. To maintain the vegetables' health, various flowers are planted among them.

Many types of vegetables can be grown in Luxembourg. TERRA invites everyone to come and see its garden, which is located in Eicherfeld, just one kilometre away from the Fondation Pescatore.
