9 October and 11 October 2026: Malentendus – Independent Little Lies

On Friday, 9 October and Sunday, 11 October 2026, the Independent Little Lies collective invites audiences to experience Malentendus, a play exploring our longing for harmony in a world that seems increasingly out of tune. "Malentendus" is a play about our yearning for harmony in a discordant world. In this one-woman show, Elsa Rauchs plays an actress grappling with the misunderstandings that have led to her isolation. The sudden appearance of Kornél Esti, a mischievous character from Hungarian literature, disrupts her introspection. A mirror effect is created between the flesh-and-blood actress and this elusive being. An unexpected bond forms through an unsettling dialogue between two sides of the same coin. This intimate conversation, by turns tender and brash, inspires us to profoundly question our own ambivalences. Language: FR

18 October 2026: Second Chance – Second-hand clothes market and Second Hand Book Market

Every year, thousands of tonnes of books and clothes in excellent condition are thrown out, contributing directly to climate change. To help tackle this problem, the City of Luxembourg will once again be holding its Second Chance market at the Schluechthaus on Sunday, 18 October 2026. From 10:00 to 17:00, the former slaughterhouse in Hollerich will be the venue for two events in one: one section will be hosting the Second Hand Book Market, organised by the Lëtzebuerg City Bibliothèque and the bookstagrammers @Betweenthelines and @Idealistatheart, while the other will be transformed into a second-hand clothes market.

If you love a bargain and are looking to add to your library or wardrobe, mark your calendar for this event and come and take part in an eco-friendly initiative that encourages waste reduction and supports the circular economy. There will be a wide selection of second-hand books – including novels, comic books, coffee table books, essays and children's books – along with stalls selling clothing for children, teens and adults, jewellery, fashion accessories and much more.

Admission is free
