Eurovision Song Contest 2026: Reception in honour of Eva Marija
On Thursday, 30 April 2026, the College of the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Luxembourg had the pleasure of welcoming a very special guest. To celebrate Eva Marija's participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2026, where she will represent Luxembourg, the City hosted a special reception attended by her family and friends, along with her former teachers from the Luxembourg City Conservatoire, who helped shape her artistic journey.
Born in Slovenia, Eva Marija moved to Luxembourg in 2003 with her parents. Drawn to music from an early age, she pursued her training at the Luxembourg City Conservatoire, where she spent nearly ten years studying a programme that combined classical training with a final specialisation in jazz and rock-pop. In 2022, Eva Marija also took part in the Future Talent Stage, an initiative organised each year by the City. This project aims to give young emerging musicians the opportunity to showcase their sound and perform in front of industry professionals.
Since then, Eva Marija has taken her artistic journey onto the international stage. In 2026, she is in her final year of songwriting studies at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in London (ICMP), where she is honing her musical and stagecraft skills while further shaping her artistic identity.
At the reception, Luxembourg City Mayor Lydie Polfer praised the young artist's career and commitment: "Eva Marija’s career perfectly reflects the richness of Luxembourg's cultural scene and the value of artistic training. We are proud to see her representing Luxembourg at the prestigious Eurovision Song Contest on such an international platform."
The members of the College of Aldermen and the Municipal Council wish Eva Marija every success as she takes the stage at the Eurovision Song Contest semi-final on 14 May 2026 in Vienna, where she will represent Luxembourg with her song "Mother Nature".
