At the beginning of November, the City received "European Energy Award Gold" certification, a label that rewards European towns and local authorities most committed to combating climate change.

The City of Luxembourg received a total score of 78.2 based on a series of measures outlined in the Climate Pact. The capital particularly distinguished itself in the areas of mobility (94%), thanks in part to the replacement of combustion engine buses with electric vehicles; municipal buildings (93%), owing to continuous improvement in the energy performance of infrastructure; and communication and cooperation (83%), testifying to its concrete and lasting commitment to a greener city.

The City, a signatory of the Climate Pact since 2012, is pursuing its efforts to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 by implementing concrete measures to reduce CO₂ emissions, boost the production and use of renewable energies, and improve the city's resilience to climate change.
