The "LE MUR Luxembourg" urban art adventure continues with a new piece by the international graffiti artist POPAY, the latest in a series of artists who have been invited to adorn the facade of the Lëtzebuerg City Museum in Luxembourg City's Ville Haute. POPAY's performance will mark LE MUR's 20th iteration and, to mark the occasion, Kopla Bounce will be on deck, bringing smooth tunes that invite listeners to relax and enjoy the festive vibe of this evening.

A major figure in the European graffiti scene

POPAY is a Franco-Hispanic visual artist. He was born under the name Juan Pablo de Ayguavives in Barcelona in 1971 and is currently based in Paris. Initially based in Paris, he has been living in Felletin, in the Creuse departement, for several years now. He began expressing himself in public spaces from a very early age, painting his first walls at the tender age of 12. He is now considered a major figure in the European graffiti scene, where he has established himself with a colourful, flourishingly expressive style that blends both abstract and figurative elements. POPAY's work reflects a masterful command of colour and dynamic forms, which he combines to create a distinctive graphic universe characterised by dreamlike architectural elements, deconstructed figures, and the interplay of light and shadows. His work blurs the boundaries between street art and contemporary art, drawing as it does on elements of both popular culture and major art movements.

POPAY has exhibited in a number of institutions and galleries throughout the world, including the Fondation Cartier and the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, the MACRO in Rome, and the Musée d'art contemporain de Lyon, to name but a few. He is also a regular guest at international street art festivals, and frequently produces giant murals in cities such as Paris, Barcelona, and Surabaya in Indonesia. His work is featured in many private and public collections, reflecting his influence, and the recognition he has gained, on the international art scene.
