Roadworks at the junction of Avenue Monterey

Road resurfacing works are scheduled to be carried out at the junction of Avenue Monterey, Avenue du Dix Septembre and Boulevard Grande-Duchesse Charlotte from 6:30 on Saturday, 7 November 2026 until 5:00 on Monday, 9 November 2026.
As such, traffic flows will be affected as follows:
- From 6:30 on Saturday, 7 November 2026 to 6:00 on Sunday, 8 November 2026:
- Traffic heading towards the city centre from Avenue du Dix Septembre must turn right onto Boulevard Grande-Duchesse Charlotte.
- Traffic on Boulevard Grande-Duchesse Charlotte will be reduced to a single lane at the junction with Avenue du Dix Septembre.
- From 6:00 on Sunday, 8 November 2026 to 5:00 on Monday, 9 November 2026:
- The section of Avenue Monterey between Boulevard Joseph II and Avenue du Dix Septembre) will be closed to traffic.
- The section of Avenue du Dix Septembre between Rue Albert 1er and Avenue Monterey) will be closed to traffic.
- The section of Boulevard Grande-Duchesse Charlotte between Avenue Gaston Diderich and Avenue Monterey) will be closed to traffic.
Appropriate signage will be put in place by the City of Luxembourg's Service Circulation (Traffic Department).
Please also note the following changes to the municipal bus service:
- Line 5 and line 6 buses travelling towards Bertrange will be diverted via Avenue Gaston Diderich. The stops "Crécy Quai 2", "Franciscaines Quai 2" and "Merl, Parc Quai 2" will not be served. Replacement stops: "Sacré-Cœur Quai 1" and "Place de Liège Quai 2". Line 5 and line 6 buses travelling towards the city centre will be diverted via Avenue Guillaume. The stops "Franciscaines Quai 1" and "Crécy Quai 1" will not be served. Replacement stops: "Bragance Quai 1" and "Guillaume Quai 1".
- Line 8 buses travelling towards Limpertsberg will be diverted via Place Winston Churchill and Boulevard Joseph II. The stops "Wampach Quai 1", "Hamilius Quai 1" and "Fondation Pescatore Quai 1" will not be served. Replacement stop: temporary stop near Place Winston Churchill.
- Line 12 buses travelling towards Kirchberg will be diverted via Place Winston Churchill and Boulevard Joseph II. The stops "Wampach Quai 1", "Monterey Quai 3", "Amélie" and "Fondation Pescatore Quai 1" will not be served. replacement stop: temporary stop near Place Winston Churchill.
- Line 12 buses travelling towards Cessange will be diverted via Boulevard de Verdun and Avenue Guillaume. The stops "Sacré-Cœur Belair", "Kierch Quai 2" and "Sacré-Cœur Quai 2" will not be served. Replacement stops: "Place de Liège Quai 2" and "Bragance Quai 1".
- Line 15 buses travelling towards Hollerich will be diverted via Avenue Marie-Thérèse. The stops "Wampach Quai 2" or "Rheinsheim Quai 2" will not be served.
- Line 16 buses travelling towards the airport will be diverted via Rue d'Ostende, Boulevard de Verdun, Avenue du Dix Septembre and Avenue Guillaume after the "Wandmillen Quai 1" stop. The stops "Rue d'Ostende Quai 1", "Nicolas Simmer Quai 1" and "Stäreplaz / Étoile Quai 1" will not be served. Replacement stop: "Rue d'Ostende Quai 4".
- Line 21 buses travelling towards Kirchberg will be diverted via Allée Léopold Goebel, Boulevard de Verdun, Avenue du Dix Septembre and Avenue Guillaume after the "Biischtefabrick Quai 1" stop. The stop "Stäreplaz / Étoile Quai 1" will not be served. Replacement stop: "Square de New York Quai 2".
