Exhibition: "Nature and Infrastructures"

On Thursday, 17 July 2025, Luxembourg City Mayor Lydie Polfer and Serge Wilmes, Minister for the Environment, Climate and Biodiversity, officially unveiled a satellite showcase of the exhibition "Nature and Infrastructures" by Andrés Lejona in Place de Strasbourg.
Through a series of 16 never-before-seen photographs, this urban exhibition showcases the efforts being made to protect nature against the effects of the climate crisis, biodiversity loss, and numerous environmental pressures that today can no longer be denied. "Nature and Infrastructures" invites viewers to learn more about protected areas, ponds and decomposing dead wood, which embody natural or semi-natural forms of infrastructure that are often invisible to the general public. Although inconspicuous, these elements play a crucial role in protecting, conserving and restoring biodiversity in Luxembourg.
In his work, the Spanish-born photographer Andrés Lejona explores the interactions between human beings and their environment, and spaces of transition and movement. Over the course of his career, he has created artistic projects in Guadeloupe, Martinique, Colombia, France, Spain, Portugal and Luxembourg, where he now lives.
The exhibition "Nature and Infrastructures" is an integral part of the LUGA – Luxembourg Urban Garden programme, and is on display until 18 October at the LUGA Lab in the lush Odendahl Park, and until September in Place de Strasbourg.
