All outdoor events held in public spaces in the City of Luxembourg must be authorised by the mayor. Applications must be sent to the college of aldermen. All applications are collected by the Secrétariat général (General Secretariat) and forwarded to the Comité de pilotage événementiel (Events Steering Committee) for review and approval.

To facilitate the application procedure, we recommend you fill out the form (see link below) and allow at least two weeks for a response depending on the complexity of your application.


Amusement tax

For public performances, attractions or entertainment, the organiser is required to pay an amusement tax to the City of Luxembourg. The amount of this tax varies based on a number of criteria: type of event, opening times, audience numbers, etc.
