“… acoustic people …” Having been involved for almost 40 years almost without interruption, constantly presenting fresh line-ups and new ideas: Ro Gebhardt, a full-blooded guitarist, composer, and arranger living in Berlin & Saarland… One of Germany’s leading figures in his field, representing know-how made in Germany both in the Federal Republic and around the world. Not least at the Blue Note jazz club in New York City… Together with his son Alec Gebhardt, a 17-year-old bassist and the youngest recipient of the Cultural Award from the Neunkirchen Cultural Society, and a young student at HFM Saarland. The Gebhardts explore literature from jazz, pop, blues, Latin, and classical music across various decades, delighting audiences with great enthusiasm and breathtaking improvisational skill. Of course, a few original songs produced on CDs for SR, BR, and Deutschlandfunk are also part of their repertoire. Recently, Ro’s crew was awarded the first prize twice by the German Pop Foundation: “Best Jazz-Rock Song” for Joyous Jaguar https://youtu.be/VqWmQXetCC4 and “Best R&B Song” for Could It Be (Ode to the Earth) https://youtu.be/Cev7QKXMD9w… two songs from their latest album, Blue Music For A Blue Planet.
