Vernissage of the "Couleurs et Formes" exhibition in the Grund tunnel

On Thursday, 30 October 2025, the City officially opened the "Couleurs et Formes" ("Colours and Shapes") exhibition featuring works by the children from the early years and combined class at Tramsschapp elementary school in Limpertsberg, staged in cooperation with the Centre d'animation pédagogique et de loisirs (Learning and Leisure Centre – CAPEL) of the City of Luxembourg's Service Foyers scolaires (Childcare Department).
A year-long project
The exhibition "Couleurs et Formes" marks the culmination of an art project that was conducted for the entire school year. The exhibition showcases the collective effort of the children, their creativity and their ability to explore the world of colours and shapes through a variety of artistic techniques.
From the very first weeks of the school year, the pupils were encouraged to observe, manipulate and above all experiment with geometric shapes and bright colours. Textures and light effects provided the inspiration for the young artists to engage in free, sensory expression. Painting, collage, prints and constructions gave every child the chance to develop their imagination while learning about the connections between the concrete and the abstract, and between the individual and the group.
The project underscores the importance of artistic awakening in a child's overall development. Through art, children learn to look at things differently, to express their emotions and to explore the world in a fun, creative way.
The "Couleurs et Formes" exhibition, which runs until January 2026 in Tunnel am Gronn, the tunnel leading to the elevator that connects the Grund district to Ville Haute, invites the public to see how children perceive their environment and to spend some time in their world of curiosity and wonder. Admission is free.
