Charlie Khalil Prince « The Body Symphonic » / Sarah Baltzinger & Isaiah Wilson « MEGASTRUCTURE » / La Chachi « Taranto Aleatorio »

19h: Charlie Khalil Prince « The Body Symphonic »

A solo performance/concert, « The Body Symphonic » observes the body as a place of resistance. A committed body moves through excavation rituals revealing unbridled mythologies and new roots, thanks to which the performer/choreographer finds an unlimited capacity for action.

Created in response to the multiple political and geopolitical crises in Lebanon, this piece is a meditation on the place of the body in struggle against occupation, where looking back, in oneself and forward becomes a strategy of perseverance and liberation.

20h30: La Chachi « Taranto Aleatorio »From ECHO.lu

Two women eat sunflower seeds in a park, an entrance and a courtyard. They share a common space, a conversation, the intimacy of silence. The cante (singing) and the baile (dancing) suddenly spring forth, transforming this banal scene into a magical and intimate show.

A Taranto is a palo (form of flamenco) originating from the mining region of Almería. It is a primitive song, simple, dry, without guitar, born from the need to sing independently. In « Taranto Aleatorio » (Random Taranto), the choreographer and dancer María del Mar Suárez/LaChachi and the singer Lola Dolorès offer their own interpretation of the rawness of this palo. By adopting a random approach, the dancer and the singer adopt irreverent gestures and humor emerges.

Biography

La Chachi is part of the tradition of deconstructing and reassessing flamenco, following the path of external artists such as El Niño de Elche, Israel Galván and Rocío Molina. Actress and dancer, she graduated in both disciplines in Malaga, her hometown. After a specialization in flamenco with « La Lupi », a training in physical theater, new dramaturgy and contemporary dance, she discovered her true passion: the union of all these disciplines.

María del Mar Suárez/La Chachi is not a newcomer, because since 2008, she diverts the traditional flamenco language to adapt it to her unique style, where hybridization is the norm. She created her first piece in 2017, « The Grammar of Mammals », which received several nominations and awards. His second work, « La Espera », received the support of the Teatros del Canal (Madrid) and was programmed at the Teatro Central in Seville. « Los inescalables Alpes, ael a Currito » (The Impassable Alps, in search of Currito) was presented at the Festival d’Raisins in Madrid and received the Godot de la Danse prize in 2022.
