The City is launching a new call for applications for chaperones to accompany children on their journeys to and from school. Chaperones are responsible for ensuring children's safety and well-being, whether they travel on foot as part of the Walking Bus scheme or by school bus.

Walking Bus (Pedibus)

Anyone interested in accompanying children on existing Walking Bus routes in Beggen, Belair, Bonnevoie, Cents, Cessange, Eich/Mühlenbach, Gare, Gasperich, Hamm, Kirchberg, Limpertsberg and Rollingergrund, or on the planned routes in Hollerich and Merl, is invited to complete the form below and submit it to the City's Cellule Transport scolaire>/em> (School Transport Unit) of the Service Enseignement (Education Department). Please note that the rollout of new lines will depend on the number of accompanying adults available and the number of children who register.

The Walking Bus is an eco-friendly way for children to get to school: it runs according to a set timetable and route in various districts of the capital, picking up children at signposted stops. The children are accompanied by adults, who guide them on foot to their school and back to the nearest stop to their home at the end of the school day. Through this initiative, the City of Luxembourg aims to protect the environment, strengthen social cohesion and improve safety around schools, while teaching children about road safety. The Walking Bus also promotes children's health by encouraging physical activity and walking.
