Second Chance at Schluechthaus

Every year, thousands of tonnes of books and clothes that are still in excellent condition are thrown away, and this contributes to climate change. To help tackle this problem, the City will once again be holding its Second Chance market at the Schluechthaus on Sunday, 26 October 2025.

From 10:00 to 17:00, the former slaughterhouse in Hollerich will be opening its doors for two events in one: one section will be hosting the Second Hand Book Market, organised in close collaboration with the Lëtzebuerg City Bibliothèque and bookstagrammers @Betweenthelines and @Idealistatheart, while the other will be transformed into the pre-loved clothes market.

If you love a bargain and are looking to add to your library or wardrobe, mark your calendar for this event! There will be a wide selection of second-hand books – including novels, comic books, coffee table books, essays and children's books – along with more than 20 stalls selling clothing for children, teens and adults, jewellery, fashion accessories and much more.

Second Chance at Schluechthaus is the perfect place to spend a day meandering, browsing and picking up a bargain, all while taking part in an eco-friendly initiative that encourages waste reduction and supports the circular economy.
