Enfants lors du trajet Pedibus
District  |  Kirchberg / Kiem

On 16 June 2025, the City launched new Walking Bus (Pedibus) lines in Kirchberg. This service allows children to walk to school safely with their friends under adult supervision.

Two lines serve a total of 9 stops selected by the City's Service Circulation (Traffic Department) based on the school's location, the children's places of residence, the urban structure of the neighbourhood, the road network and the location of main thoroughfares. These lines range from 640 m to 745 m, with a maximum travel time of 15 minutes. They will serve between four and five stops, with children joining the Walking Bus at the stop closest to their home.

Kirchberg:

  • Line 1: Rue Mathias Tresch, Rue Abbé Jos Keup, Rue Paul Palgen, Rue Anne Beffort
  • Line 2 buses: Allée des Poiriers, Boulevard Konrad Adenauer, Rue Simone de Beauvoir, Rue Anne Beffort

Advance registration is required

For children to be able to take the Walking Bus, prior registration is required using the form supplied by the school. This form is also available on pedibus.vdl.lu.

Registration is currently possible for the following lines:

  • Belair (École Gaston Diderich and École Aloyse Kayser)
  • Bonnevoie (École Verger)
  • Cents (École Léon Kauffmann)
  • Gasperich
  • Kirchberg (École Anne Beffort)
  • Limpertsberg (École Batty Weber)
  • Rollingergrund

The number of lines organised in September across the city's various neighborhoods will depend on the number of children registered and the number of adults available to chaperone. We at the City of Luxembourg are therefore launching a call for applications in Kirchberg, and are also relaunching our call for applications in the other districts: if you are interested in becoming a chaperone, please sign up using the "Chaperone for the Walking Bus" form, which can be found on our website.
