This year, the National Day festivities will continue over two days, with traditional celebrations such as the torchlight procession (Fakelzuch) on the eve of National Day (22 June), and the military parade on National Day (23 June).

22 June

The eve of National Day

A celebratory atmosphere will pervade the capital all day long, with the traditional Changing of the Guard in front of the Grand Ducal Palace, the torchlight procession (Fakelzuch), concerts in public squares around the city, the City Sounds festival in Champ du Glacis, and a fireworks to close the evening.

23 June

National Day

The official celebrations will begin with a ceremony at the Philharmonie Luxembourg, followed by a 21-gun salute in Fetschenhof, in honour of HRH the Grand Duke. The traditional presentation of arms and military parade will then take place in Avenue de la Liberté. The "Spillfest" will be running throughout the day, with a host of activities for visitors of all ages. Then, in the evening, Champ du Glacis will come alive with music as part of the City Sounds festival.

Traffic and public transport

There will be changes to traffic and public transport services on 22 and 23 June. If you are driving, the City encourages you to use the P+R facilities.
