My Urban Piano
The My Urban Piano Luxembourg project has been officially launched at Place d'Armes outside Cercle Cité during a ceremony attended by the college of the mayor and aldermen of the City of Luxembourg.
To mark the occasion, two winners of the "My Urban Piano 2025" competition, Katharina Fischer and Luna Hoogakker, showcased their talent. Katharina Fischer performed Piano Sonata in F Major, Hob. XVI:23 I. Allegro by Joseph Haydn and Tarentelle op.77 n.6 by Moritz Moszkowski, while Luna Hoogakker performed Prelud no.1 in C Major by Johann Sebastian Bach and Comptine d'un autre été by Yann Tiersen.
17 pianos across the city
To liven up the city's streets, 16 pianos will be set up all across town from 15 May to 16 June 2026: you'll find them in the city's public squares, parks, and tourist spots, as well as a range of other places.
Each of these pianos has been decorated by local associations, artists or educational organisations, and constitutes a work of art in itself. All of the pianos are available for anyone to play – whether you're a beginner or a seasoned virtuoso – to fill the air with music in Luxembourg City.
My Urban Piano Luxembourg is an interactive event that takes place every year and is modelled on other annual public piano projects staged in capital cities around the world.
