On Tuesday, 20 January 2026, the City of Luxembourg and the Luxembourg City Business Association (Union Commerciale de la Ville de Luxembourg – UCVL) announced the winners of the shop window decoration competition held in December 2025, with the aim of creating a festive and welcoming atmosphere in the city during the end-of-year holidays, and rewarding businesses' efforts to share the magic of Christmas with customers and visitors through their shopfront windows.

Having assessed the window displays against set criteria – overall aesthetic, technical execution, originality and creativity, and inclusion of the shop's products in the decoration – the panel chose three joint winners, each of whom will receive a EUR 2,000 prize awarded by the City of Luxembourg:

  • The "Brasserie des Jardins", a restaurant located at 27B, Boulevard Marcel Cahen in Merl
  • The "Ecrin de Verdure", a store located at 54, Rue de Strasbourg in the Gare district
  • The "Letz Bouquet", a store located at 14, Avenue de la Porte-Neuve in Ville Haute

Additionally, between 9 and 31 December 2025, the general public had a chance to vote for their favourite window display. By the time voting had closed, over 3,200 votes had been cast, and the public's choice was:

  • "Intense Coffee", a café located at 61, Avenue Pasteur in Limpertsberg, which also wins a EUR 2,000 prize.

68 participating businesses

Of the 68 businesses that took part in the competition, 18% were located in the Gare district, 68% in Ville Haute, and 14% in one of the capital's other districts. 85% of the entries – across all business sectors – were independent businesses.
