On Wednesday, 11 June 2025, a delegation from County Carlow was welcomed to Luxembourg City Hall by Deputy Mayor Maurice Bauer. They were accompanied by Her Excellency Jean McDonald, Ambassador of Ireland to Luxembourg.
The meeting focused, among other things, on sharing best practices in economic development, cross-border cooperation, tourism, promoting innovation and supporting entrepreneurship. The Irish delegation, made up of political, economic, institutional and academic representatives, expressed a keen interest in the initiatives put in place by the City of Luxembourg to revitalise local commerce and promote entrepreneurial development, notably through initiatives such as the Luxembourg-City Incubator, the Design Hub and pop-up stores.
This exchange is part of wider efforts towards openness and cooperation at a European level in order to better meet the future challenges our cities are set to face.
