"Hom(e)anity"

On Friday, 19 September 2025, the College of Aldermen officially opened the "Hom(e)anity" exhibition in Place de Strasbourg in the Gare district. The exhibition was designed by artists Fabienne Elaine Hollwege and Piera Jovic, who are both members of the MASKéNADA collective. It brings together photographs and sketches compiled from the original interactive exhibition, which questions the many nuances of the concept of "home", a concept that is both universal and personal.
What is "home"? Is it a scent, a person, a memory? Or maybe a place? The concept of "home" has become vital in an era marked by the acceleration of time and by instability: where do we find our place of respite, the place where we feel we belong and can be happy? The answer to this question is unique to each of us. In "Hom(e)anity", the artists explore the deep connections between home and humanity, and invite visitors to reflect on their own experiences.
The exhibition, which is being put on as part of the MASKéNADA collective's 30th anniversary, will be on display on the fence around the playground in Place de Strasbourg until Monday, 10 November 2025.
