Heat wave: health and safety advice
With hot weather expected in the coming days, the City encourages residents to take appropriate precautions and follow essential heat-safety advice.
You should:
- drink water regularly, even if you do not feel thirsty;
- when outside, stay in cool, shaded areas;
- make sure vulnerable people, such as older adults, people who are ill, and children, are coping well with the heat.
Drinking fountains
To help citizens and visitors stay hydrated during hot weather, the City provides numerous public drinking fountains, many of them equipped with dog drinking facilities. The locations of the 60 fixed and mobile water stations can be found atfontaines.vdl.lu.
City Sounds on 22 and 23 June 2026
Visitors attending City Sounds may bring one sealed 0.5-litre PET water bottle per person.
In addition, the City has committed to offering free drinking water at all catering stands that serve beverages for the benefit of festivalgoers. Water will be provided either in cups subject to a refundable deposit or in personal plastic bottles or containers. All other drinks will be sold at regular market prices.
The City and the emergency services urge the public to take sensible precautions and follow recommended heat-safety measures during the heatwave.
