Overview

A number of changes to the City's bus services took effect on Sunday, 22 February 2026. This reorganisation of the bus network was needed in view of the construction work on the OA726 bridge in Rue des Hauts-Fourneaux in Dommeldange, which will be closed to traffic for around two years. The planned changes are designed to guarantee efficient, reliable public transport services adapted to users' needs throughout the construction period.

As there may be schedule changes for certain bus stops, users are asked to check the new timetables, which are displayed at these bus stops, online at (bus.vdl.lu) and in the cityapp - VDL.

Hard-copy (paper) schedules of all bus lines are also available from the Infobus point (Place d'Armes, Cercle Cité building, corner of Rue Genistre).

Overview of the changes

  • New routes on bus lines 3, 23 and 25 to Dommeldange
  • Changes on bus line 81
  • New bus line 82

New routes on bus lines 3, 23 and 25 to Dommeldange

Line 3 buses travelling to the terminus at "Henri Dunant" are being diverted via Rue de Beggen and Rue de la Cimenterie. They continue to serve the stop "Cyprien Merjai" as well as the terminus.

However, stops in Dommeldange previously served by line 3 are no longer being served by this line.

To maintain service to "Chingiz Aitmatov", line 25 is being extended to this stop.

As line 25 does not run on Sundays, line 23 is being extended to "Chingiz Aitmatov" stop on Sundays. The other stops in Dommeldange will also be served by line 23.

Changes to bus line 81 and launch of new bus line 82

On Sunday, 22 February 2026, changes to the route of line 81 took effect and a new line 82 was launched.

Line 81 has effectively been split into two separate lines to continue serving Beggen and Dommeldange, while avoiding a significant increase in journey times.

All stops on this line will be continue to be served.
