Cours de danses et de musiques afro latines

The school’s Open Days will take place from 14 to 18 September 2026 at our premises at 1–3 Rue d’Eich, Luxembourg.

This event will offer a free opportunity to discover Afro-Latin dances (salsa, bachata), African dances (South Africa, Burkina Faso, Senegal), East African and Cuban percussion, as well as the new offerings for the season.

Programme for the start of the 2026 academic year:

During this open week, the school will be launching some new initiatives:

From ECHO.lu

.

Mindful Caribbean dance [all levels] with Alessia, on Tuesdays from 1.30 pm to 2.30 pm: : https://danse-salsa.lu/danses-caribeennes-en-pleine-presence/

What if dancing became a way to slow down, breathe and fully reconnect with yourself?

Mindful Caribbean dance is an invitation to experience movement in a different way.

Inspired by Afro-Caribbean dances, this class offers a gentle, sensitive and deeply vibrant approach, where every movement becomes an opportunity to fully inhabit your body and the present moment.

Percussion and Rhythms [all levels] with Alessia, Thursdays from 7.50 pm to 8.50 pm: https://danse-salsa.lu/calendrier/percussions-et-rythmiques-tous-niveaux/

A class that brings together, in a single session, the study of Cuban and Caribbean percussion instruments (congas, clave, maracas, güiro, campana) and African percussion (djembe).

The bodywork aspect of dance serves to clarify and complement the programme, for dancers and musicians wishing to gain a better understanding of the rhythms they are familiar with (cha-cha-cha, Cuban salsa, Puerto Rican salsa, bachata).

No previous experience is required.

Next up: not to be missed

On Saturday 10 October 2026, from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm, the school will host a kora workshop with Massa Dembele, a virtuoso musician from Burkina Faso. Spend an afternoon discovering this twenty-one-string harp, the living voice of the griots and guardian of the memory of the Mandinka peoples of West Africa. No previous musical experience is required.
