Live Dream explores the mysteries of the brain and altered states of consciousness. In this collective experience, the neural activity of several participants is captured in real time using electrodes. Drawing on a scientific protocol, artists Justine Emard and Jean-Emmanuel Rosnet harness these electrical signals to give form to a visual and sound work, nourished—like a documentary—by dream narratives.

Sometimes tangible, sometimes imperceptible, the interpreted data generates a range of atmospheres created by the two artists. This brain–machine interface seeks to resonate with the participants’ physical presence. As they move through the experience, they feel both its intensity and its contemplative dimension, in a hypnotic, dreamlike journey.
