The Lëtzebuerg City Bibliothèque (city library) is a public space where people can not only read but also meet, learn, relax and have fun. It aims to:
- to promote reading and cultural development by giving the public free access to books and other documents of all literary genres that meet the demands of people of all ages and reading levels
- foster a love of reading among children and young people
- offer a welcoming space that is open to all without discrimination
- facilitate access to knowledge and culture, and promote the transmission of knowledge
- promote information-seeking behaviour and information literacy
- disseminate contemporary literary works and help establish contact between readers and authors
- offer cultural activities (mardis littéraires, guided tours, Tuffi children's activities, etc.)
- to oversee the conservation of cultural heritage
