From 21 November 2025 to 4 January 2026, the Winterlights festival will transform Luxembourg City into an enchanting winter wonderland.

Christmas markets and other attractions during the Winterlights festival

A sea of lights and decorations will lend the city's streets and squares a magical air – creating a captivating spectacle for anyone out for a stroll in the capital. At the various Christmas markets throughout the city, visitors will find warm seasonal drinks, sweet and savoury treats, and many stalls offering decorative items, toys, jewellery, clothing, and sweets:

  • "Lëtzebuerger Chrëschtmaart" in Place d'Armes
  • "Wantermaart" in Place de la Constitution
  • "Niklosmaart" in Place de Paris
  • "Wanterpark" and ice skating rink at Kinnekswiss
  • "Sapin Royal" in Place Émile Hamilius (new in 2025)

Fir trees over ten meters tall, children's rides, trampolines, the giant pyramid and the Ferris wheel are just some of the attractions that will appeal to visitors.

Winterkids, entertainment, concerts and exhibitions

The festival will also feature an extensive entertainment programme to suit all tastes, with concerts, exhibitions, Christmas-themed films, and theatre and dance performances. This will include a wide array of children's activities at the Winterkids market in Place Guillaume II (with creative workshops, puppet shows and more), while people of all ages will be sure to enjoy the rich and diverse programme of cultural events put on by the City's theatres and museums, as well as the Cinémathèque. On Sunday, 30 November, Saint Nicholas will be making his rounds, calling at various locations across the city as part of the traditional "Kleeschen on tour" procession.

Come to the Winterlights festival to share unforgettable, magical moments with friends and family in a wonderfully festive atmosphere!
